Modern Design & Happening
One MICHELIN Key · A very special stay
The Delano brand may have been born in Miami Beach, but its signature cloud-white interiors and the era-mixing postmodern aesthetic pioneered by Philippe Starck are by no means phenomena that are limited to South Florida. Maison Delano Paris is the line’s new flagship, and it appeals in many of the same ways, though obviously the details are different; the setting is an 18th-century mansion in the Faubourg Saint Honoré, the designer is Lázaro Rosa Violán, and the atmosphere is urban elegance rather than beachy resort-chic.
With a mere 56 rooms and suites Maison Delano Paris is authentically boutique-sized, with all the intimacy and personalized service that that implies. The Deluxe rooms are typically Parisian in their modest dimensions but perfectly comfortable, and at all levels the heritage details of this 1734-vintage house add to the uniqueness of the visual environment. And at the top of the range the Heritage and Presidential suites are as lavish as anything in town, which, Paris being what it is, is really saying something.
Given Maison Delano’s smallish size, public spaces are somewhat limited. Spa treatments are offered en suite, and while there’s only one restaurant and one bar, they’re impressive ones: in the house’s central courtyard is the French-Mediterranean Delano Café by Thierry Marx, while the Delano Bar is a stylish space that brings together Parisian locals and hotel guests over a thoughtful selection of spirits and wines.
