Maison Douce Époque

Le Caniset, Chem. Du Tocq, France
14 Rooms
Contemporary Classic & Quiet
A scant few minutes inland from the busy Côte Fleurie town of Deauville stands an early-20th-century manor house that was built by the Gallimard family of publishers. Like many houses of its vintage, it lived a multitude of lives. The house was restored at the turn of the 21st century, and upgraded to its present form in 2025; today it’s a small luxury hotel known as the Maison Douce Époque.

With just 14 rooms and suites it still feels somewhat like a private residence. The accommodations are divided between the main house and the former stables; the spaces are generous, and the historical architecture is everywhere visible, while the décor displays a contemporary sensibility. And like any good country-house hotel, the bedrooms are only half the story — here guests benefit from the expansive gardens and grounds, the outdoor swimming pool, a spa in partnership with KOS Paris and Bellefontaine Switzerland, and a gastronomic restaurant called Le Romanesque.
