Set on the old hunting grounds of the Dukes of Brabant is one of the country’s finest golf courses, and alongside the course is one of the country’s finest hotels, the stately yet stylish Duke Club.
Its 20 suites are a new addition, designed by Famke van Eerd-Hinrichs with an eye towards satisfying the expectations of the traditional-minded golfing audience along with those of contemporary-minded travelers with boutique-hotel experience. Rich, ultra-saturated colors and vibrant patterned textiles and wallpapers provide plenty of visual interest, and the comforts are first-rate, with subtly integrated high-tech elements as well as old-fashioned luxuries like heaping king beds and spa-like bathrooms — and, in proper country-house style, butler service is included as well.
The Duke Club is a private members’ club as well as a hotel, with a gym and spa and plenty of meeting space, and there’s a highly regarded fine-dining restaurant as well as a brasserie and a terrace for an al fresco meal.
