The smart move on Koh Samui has long been to retreat to as private a corner of the island as you can find — and it would be difficult to come up with something more private than Kerem Luxury Beachfront Villas. Here in Plai Laem you’re only a few minutes’ drive from such busy locales as Chaweng Beach, but on this hillside, at the end of the peninsula, overlooking a private beach, life is as tranquil as can be.
Kerem comprises a mere four villas: two beachfront villas and two terrace villas, set a few steps up the hill. All of them are luxuriously self-contained, with three full bedrooms, private pools, plentiful living and lounging space, and full kitchens. The style, courtesy of modernist resort architect Gary Fell, is ultra-sleek while remaining warm and livable, furnished by the Italian brand Meridiani; while full-length windows frame spectacular views of the seascapes outside.
Paddle boards and sea kayaks are available, and as are en-suite massages and spa treatments. Guests spend the bulk of their time on the hotel’s lovely private beach, and Kerem’s residential concept means there’s not much need for spaces like a restaurant — breakfast is made to order in your villa’s own kitchen, and there’s an option to have lunch or dinner served the same way.
