In Copenhagen’s lively Nyhavn district, not far from the Royal Palace Amalienborg, a row of three Victorian townhouses have been joined together, creating a boutique hotel that is, in modern Danish style, equal parts modern and classic. The rooms, designed by SPACE Copenhagen, are sober and somewhat minimalist, inspired by the painter Vilhelm Hammershøi. Somewhat more lively is the restaurant, the modestly named Shrimp, set in the hotel’s atrium courtyard; there’s also the Club, which is exactly what it sounds like, as well as a top-floor terrace with a view over the rooftops of the city.
