Les Lumières Versailles
The style in the common areas channels the classic elegance of the Grand Siècle with heavy crystal chandeliers, oversized mirrors, and an opulent Belle Époque staircase. But rooms and suites, high-ceilinged and spacious, have more of a modern edge: some feature bold patterned wallpaper and others have coffered walls in crisp sage green, but all have colorful accents, from mustard-yellow or cherry-red duvets to velvet ottomans in turquoise or navy blue. Some offer direct views of the Château, as does one of the hotel’s highlights, the gorgeous Café Pierre Hermé, with its blush-pink banquettes and high arched windows. Sparkling wines are the stars in the gilded Bar des Philosophes, and a charming boutique offers takeaway patisserie by the in-house pastry chef.
