Hotel Goodwin
In the rooms there’s no shortage of space, and each one is outfitted with a 65-inch television, a turntable with a small record collection, and a Keurig coffee maker. The bathrooms are lavish, stone-clad, stocked with Gilchrist & Soames bath products, and feature walk-in showers or, in some rooms, a three-sided glass shower that extends into the bedroom.
And despite its small size — a mere 34 rooms — Hotel Goodwin comes with a wealth of dining and drinking options. Velvet Buffalo, the wine bar, also serves stone-fired pizza and a Sunday brunch, while Truk’t specializes in street-style tacos, accompanied by over a hundred tequilas and whiskeys. Lucy’s #7 is the burger bar, Merrill & Houston’s is a classic steakhouse, and Blue Collar Coffee is exactly what it sounds like. The ace in the hole, however, might be the Rooftop, a bar and events space with an open-air view of the rooftops of downtown Beloit.
