Guangzhou’s H’Elite Hotel may be ultra-modern — it was built in 2017 and features cutting-edge air filtration as well as automated in-room lighting and climate control — but it’s got a bit of a throwback vibe as well, thanks to the slightly rustic, traditionally Chinese style of its artworks and interior design. Space is plentiful, especially in the suites, and the H’Elite offers both Chinese and European dining options. The setting, in Zhujiang New Town, is central and convenient, a ten-minute walk from the Guangdong Museum and twenty or so minutes from the American consulate.
