Khao (which translates as ‘rice’) serves authentic Thai and northern Thai classics like Hang Le and Khao Soi. In the kitchen is Chef Ann, who delivers uninhibited flavours with influences from Yunnan, Myanmar, and indigenous highland peoples. The dining room is contemporary and folksy – crystal chandeliers coexist with carved teak panelling – and the terrace offers serene views of rice fields and hills. Save space for the signature fermented rice cheesecake.
