Rambutan Hotel & Resort

In many cases “hotel and resort” is just a fancy way of saying “hotel,” but Rambutan Hotel & Resort styles itself as two properties in one, side by side in the heart of old Siem Reap, just across the river from the city center. To be perfectly fair, they share everything, including the spa, the swimming pools, and the restaurant and bar. But the two wings of accommodations do have their own distinct identities: the hotel side is made up of Balcony Villa rooms, most of them in a two-story duplex orientation, while the resort wing contains Deluxe Terrace rooms with or without rooftop space.

And while the resort side may offer a touch more space, as well as extra comforts like outdoor baths, the difference isn’t exactly night and day. With just 26 units between them, they’re both small, and the property never feels crowded or busy. The location is both convenient and quiet, tucked down a side street but just five minutes’ walk from the Old Market. Meanwhile the restaurant and bar serve western and Khmer classics overlooking one of the two salt-water pools, and a small spa offers restorative treatments after a day of temple tours.
