MICHELIN Green Star
Established over 100 years ago, this is a charming traditional restaurant with Alpine-style decor that perfectly complements the cuisine. The Bacher family have made it their mission to showcase local flavours. Led by son Tobias, the kitchen team creates a seasonally inspired surprise menu using excellent regional produce, some of which comes from their own garden. The delicious bread served before your meal comes from the family's village bakery. In one of the dining rooms, food is even cooked on an antique wood-fired stove, right before your eyes – the name of the restaurant translates as "Smoke Kitchen".
"Our surprise menu, which changes daily, is shaped by our remote location, our strict seasonal approach and the inconsistent availability of ingredients. However, what we use always comes from the local area – sometimes from organic producers or local farmers – and we use produce from our own cottage garden and our 25 fruit trees. We also cook on the old wood-burning stove and use it for heating, along with solar energy and a heat pump."
