The resort’s aesthetic was inspired by the Italian Modernist architect Gio Ponti. Rooms and suites are sleek and functional, calling to mind the look of an elegant turn-of-the-century ocean liner with a nautical color palette, curving lines, and polished wood furnishings. All feature luxurious marble bathrooms, some with soaking tubs, and many have private balconies overlooking the marina. Suites are especially palatial with details like garden terraces and outdoor Jacuzzis. Beyond the confines of the hotel, the picturesque and perfectly planned streets of Portopiccolo are lined with boutiques and wine bars, though it’s hard to beat the ambiance at Maxi’s, the resort’s all-white, open-air restaurant on the marina.
