Triana House
Calle Rodrigo de Triana 94, Sevilla, Spain
7 Rooms
Contemporary Classic & Lively
Named not only for its address but for its neighborhood, one of the finest in Seville, Triana House is bursting with local pride, not just for its own city, but for all of Andalusia — each of its seven rooms is named for a different site, from Córdoba to Alhambra and beyond. Ultimately, though, they share more similarities than differences — while the details vary, all are suitably ornate in their décor, and full of bold color and dense visual texture.
Some open onto the ground-floor courtyard, while others overlook it from above; one, on the top floor, opens onto a private terrace with a view of the neighborhood and the picturesque Church of Santa Ana. It’s a quietly high-end experience — hand-made Vispring mattresses are among the in-room comforts. And while there’s nothing obviously high-tech about it, Triana House stays comfortable in remarkably energy-efficient ways — this is the region’s first Passivhaus-certified hotel, featuring solar power and inventive ventilation and filtration measures.
Where Triana House treads lightly — and you can hardly blame them, at their small size — is in the realm of food and beverage service. Breakfast is the only full meal, though it’s an abundant and artfully presented one; light bites are available for lunch and dinner, while the neighborhood and the rest of Seville are perfectly capable of delivering the goods.
