But its small size — just 20 rooms — lends it an air of privacy, and from its rooftop pool and bar you’ll overlook the city and the sea from a pleasant distance. Rain showers, blackout curtains, and plush mattresses set a tone of luxury in the rooms, and at the high end you might find a private terrace and a soaking tub.
The rooftop bar is the entirety of Marquee Playa’s food and beverage program, but it’s more than sufficient — it’s an attractive space with an expansive view and an all-day menu of fresh, locally sourced Mexican fare, as well as a well-chosen list of cocktails, beers, and wines.
