Our Habitas San Miguel

The Habitas hotels pride themselves on connection, in a couple of different dimensions — first and foremost, a connection with nature, which Habitas San Miguel achieves by virtue of its immersion in the countryside a mere ten minutes from the center of San Miguel de Allende. And the resort’s accommodations are built for just that purpose: each one is a freestanding casita that opens onto a view of the countryside right at the foot of the bed.

The pod-like casitas mix contemporary elements like floor-to-ceiling windows and modern furniture with traditional crafts and décor, and they’ve all got outdoor decks for lounging. They offer privacy and seclusion when you need it, but the Habitas ethos is also one of fostering human connection, and to that end there’s a wealth of cultural programming and a number of group-oriented outdoor excursions.

Sound baths, yoga classes, and music lessons are offered on site, as well as horseback and mountain bike rides; the nearby city of San Miguel de Allende is close enough for a guided visit to an artist’s studio. There’s also a spa, for some solitary restoration — and the hotel’s restaurant, Communidad, is the center of Habitas San Miguel’s social life.
