Hotel Marincanto has been welcoming guests since 1967, when Positano’s then-mayor opened it as a modest B&B. Today it remains family-run, though its scale and polish have grown considerably. Built into the cliffs on cascading terraces, the hotel offers uninterrupted views of the bay and town, with an infinity pool and cocktail terrace that make the most of the outlook. Forty rooms and suites, some in an 18th-century villa, each carry bright Amalfi touches and many open onto private balconies. The beach club below, reached by a long stone staircase, gives Marincanto a rare advantage along this crowded stretch of coast.
