You wouldn’t guess it at first — this triangular Haussmannian-style building in the 8th arrondissement dates back to the early 1900s, and the wrought-iron marquise framing the entry is a reminder of days gone by — but the Hôtel Florida is almost entirely new inside. The Parisian architecture firm Liautard and the Queen worked hard to strike the perfect balance between vintage charm and modern glamour, revitalizing the landmark’s interiors with walnut wood paneling, Art Deco furnishings, and fanciful tropical-print wallpaper. Rooms are cool and quirky, with retro carpets and animal print armchairs, and bathrooms have olive-green or chocolate-brown tile, marble fittings, and products by Maison Dyptique. A chic restaurant and wine bar add an air of liveliness that’s well-suited to the central location: the Champs-Elysées and the Louvre are just a short stroll away.
