MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The Julius is owned by the Viennese coffee and dining concern Julius Meinl, and as a foray into the hotel business it’s no half-measure; this heritage building in central Prague has had its interiors redesigned by the Milanese architects Matteo Thun & Partners. The result is 168 new rooms and suites — or, to use their preferred term, residences — in a subdued but luxurious contemporary style, with the full complement of modern hotel comforts and a vibe that’s sedate enough for even the longest stay. There’s an Italian-inspired bistro and bar, and the neighborhood — and the greater city — offers no shortage of other fine options.
