Modern Design & Lively
Safe to say every university town could use something like this — Study at Yale is a boutique hotel that stands not just adjacent to but within Yale’s campus, surrounded by the buildings that comprise its schools of art, architecture, and drama. The look is stylish, modernist-influenced, with a color scheme that’s subtly collegiate and a lobby that’s dominated by armchairs and bookshelves, just as it ought to be. There’s a café just off the lobby, as well as a restaurant that’s frankly better than it strictly needs to be: Heirloom, serving seasonal New American fare drawn from the farms and fisheries of New England.

Don't expect too much from a hotel in a college town, but at least The Study tries. The rooms are very comfortable, although the quality of the towels could stand an upgrade. The public spaces are divided between the restaurant and bar, check in, and a coffee bar, so there's plenty of room for whatever you need. Their breakfast is first class, and something to look forward to the next morning.
