Modern Design & Lively
The historic West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles isn’t exactly a hotel hotbed, but it’s full of excellent restaurants, shops, and other attractions — as well as an unusual 48-room boutique hotel by the name of Alsace LA. As the name may suggest, it’s a hotel that plays up the kinship between Southern California and Western Europe, but is ultimately a unique vision of L.A. life, complete with a pleasant outdoor courtyard, a thoughtfully equipped and programmed fitness center, and a charming little pool. There’s a modern Japanese restaurant by Danny Elmaleh, and the neighborhood offers a few gems of its own.
