MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Rather like California, Australia is finding its retired motels to be fertile raw material for renovations. Kyah, in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, takes Palm Springs as its aesthetic inspiration, turning a Seventies motel into a very modern — but still Seventies-inspired — 46-room boutique hotel. The rooms retain their external entry — no lobby or corridors here — and they range from a single king bed to a two-bedroom suite complete with a spa bath. The restaurant, Blaq, is named for the location, in Blackheath, and emphasizes its connection with the local environment; ingredients are grown on-site, when possible.

Booking Details: Kyah requires additional information from guests to ensure the best stay possible. As such, reservations can only be confirmed through our customer service team. Contact us for assistance.
