This North Yorkshire village inn is a 'proper' pub run by a friendly team, so you’ll always find plenty of locals in the bar. The kitchen team work away behind a large glass window on vibrant, flavoursome dishes that marry together complementary local ingredients. Portions are generous and a tasting menu is available too if you want to experience a broader range of dishes. The site also houses seven bedrooms, making it a good base from which to explore York, Harrogate and Castle Howard.
