Set on a peninsula across the bay from Mykonos’s town center, Mykonos No5 is perfectly placed for stunning sunset views — though, to be fair, there’s not a time of day when the Aegean is anything less than spectacular. This hillside escape is familiar enough, its whitewashed cubes rising from rough-hewn stone walls on the hillside. But when you’ve got a formula as successful as the Cycladic one, there’s no need for a stylistic revolution — just a thoughtful, confident execution, and No5 is certainly that.
Nearly all of the rooms and suites have terraces facing out to sea, and many of them have plunge pools as well. The style is minimalist but never cold, with furnishings and accents that lean more toward the bohemian than the modernist. The interiors are spacious and luxe, their visual simplicity balanced by their extensive comforts, including high-tech ones like Nespresso machines and Sonos sound systems. With the town center close at hand, Mykonos No5 is free to be little more than a refuge — poolside lounging is as demanding as daytime gets, and the all-day restaurant pivots effortlessly from breakfast through light Mediterranean lunches to candlelit dinners and beyond.
