Reemerging after a sixty-five-million-dollar renovation, The Mira Hong Kong adds some serious artillery to the north/south rivalry surrounding Hong Kong Harbour. Slick without being slimy, The Mira is a cutting-edge modern property that lives up to its position in a true global capital without having to have a Hong Kong Island address. It’s proof a proper World-City–type hotel doesn’t have to be stiff or beige.

In this impossibly vertical city of towers, one is usually found either ponying up for a harbor view room, or settling for a view of someone else’s window. However, this is not the case at The Mira; located prominently across from the well-loved urban magnet of Kowloon Park, Mira affords many guests the luxury of a view of expansive, verdant greenery, a rare thing indeed in Hong Kong. That settled, there is plenty still left to choose. Basic rooms are yours to customize with a range of available color schemes, and suites are each unique. All accommodations are appropriately splashy with a bit of mid-century retro-futurism mixed in, as in Arne Jacobsen's timeless egg chairs. Turns out pod chairs and space-age bathtubs actually mix rather well with a contemporary European meal à la room service and a tumbler of Glenfiddich.

To that point, The Mira caters exceptionally well to the taste buds at all levels. There are three restaurants in house; contemporary European, modern Cantonese, and a buffet-style range of all things in-between. To boot, a swanky lobby bar and a chocolate-themed café can fill in for any between meal cravings, while an open-air lounge hidden in the courtyard, fragrant from frangipani trees and shisha, makes for a low-key after-hours hangout. The Mira’s spa is similarly successful at catering to the other four senses, with its glassy infinity pool, wide range of massage treatments, water beds and light therapy room.

And in an era when constant connectivity renders free internet a somewhat underwhelming ‘perk,’ the Mira goes several steps further with complimentary local and international calls, plus loaner smartphones for free, unlimited use anywhere in the city.

How to get there: The Mira Hong Kong is approximately 45 minutes from Hong Kong International Airport.

Please note: special traffic arrangements and road closure are expected from 17:00 until further notice in the nearby Tsim Sha Tsui area for special festive dates including Christmas Eve (24 December), New Year's Eve (31 December) and Chinese New Year (2 February 2022, 23 January 2023, 11 February 2024). This hotel is implementing enhanced safety and cleaning measures as required by the Tablet Recovery Pledge. Our Customer Service team is happy to provide full details of each step being taken.
