Tanja Grandits, known from the Stucki in Basel, has created a deliberately relaxed and accessible concept here. The cuisine is fresh, modern and creative, and the menu also features one or two Grandits classics. There is a 3- to 5-course menu (regular and vegetarian), plus an appealing à la carte selection. Appetising options include ‘crustacean bisque, prawn dumplings, tomato compote’ or ‘spinach dumplings, mountain cheese, caraway seeds’. A lunch menu is also available at midday. Marten Harder's cuisine is complemented by a carefully curated wine list featuring excellent wines, mainly from Switzerland. The service, under the direction of Edi Magalhães (formerly of Casa Caminada), is pleasantly experienced, well-coordinated and attentive to guests' needs. You feel welcome and warmly cared for. A nice idea: on request, you can have various cookbooks by Tanja Grandits brought to your table – perfect for browsing through. The ambience is minimalist and modern, with a cosy little lounge in the entrance area and a nice, quiet terrace away from the street.
