Nestled in a park in a quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of Basel is this stylish historical villa in which a chic restaurant with a modern design has been set up. The striking "Thomy" pictures on the wall draw the eye, and hark back to the Thomi-Hopf family, once the owners. The garden terrace is also lovely. Seasonality and regionality underpin the cuisine, which is classic French with a contemporary twist, and incorporates occasional international ingredients and flavours. Diners can choose between a packed à la carte menu and two set menus, one of which is vegetarian. There is also a two- to three-course lunch set menu. It is also worth perusing the wine list, which has a penchant for European labels. Good seminar facilities are also available here.
