MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Both originally from Japan, owner and sommelier Shoko Hasegawa and chef Takafumi Kikuchi cut their teeth at the renowned Au 14 Février in Saint-Valentin (Indre). In this tiny restaurant that seats just ten or so diners in the heart of Lyon's old town, your hostess is responsible for the highly attentive service while the chef applies his extreme focus to the resolutely seasonal and highly personal dishes: shellfish consommé, tomato and cheese; smoked duck foie gras with a medley of sweetcorn; "acqua pazza" line-caught meagre. And the experience is enhanced by the well-curated food and wine pairings and excellent value for money. Be sure to reserve: tables here are at a premium!
