At the entrance to the picturesque Norman village of Barneville-la-Bertran stand a red brick house and a half-timbered longhouse, which collectively comprise the Auberge de la Source. The accommodations are divided between these two structures as well as a third cottage in the garden; all are rustic in their inspiration but thoroughly luxurious in their execution, and more than a little bit contemporary in their carefully curated design. Massages are available for a bit of relaxation, and the gardens and the forested countryside invite exploration; the restaurant feels warm and cozy even as it serves artful modern cooking.
