Luisenhöhe Gesundheitsresort Schwarzwald may have a mouthful of a name, but it essentially boils down to the restorative fundamentals of Black Forest resorts since time immemorial. It’s at the north end of Horben, a picturesque hamlet just over the Rhine from France, which gives every room a floor-to-ceiling panorama of foothills worthy of an Old Master. Floods of light fall on plenty of natural wood finishes in the rooms, which benefit from boldly patterned textiles and mid-century modern furnishings with an eco-conscious twist. Rounding things out is a sprawling wellness complex (hence the name), including a 25-meter heated pool and enough terraces to enjoy a different one every day.
