Contemporary Classic & Quiet
In twenties Paris, the Art Deco-style Hôtel Cayré was a meeting place for artists and writers. A century later, this Saint-Germain-des-Prés landmark was reborn as Le Grand Hôtel Cayré. It's the flagship hotel of the lifestyle brand Miiro, and they’ve gone out of their way to preserve the building’s best qualities, like its elegant stone facade and quaint balconies, some with views of the Eiffel Tower — not to mention the buzzy atmosphere in the street-level bar and brasserie, named after the French-German writer Annette Kolb, a longtime resident at the original hotel.
Thoughtful renovations have infused the interiors with a fresh look that’s simple and classic, with a mix of modern and vintage pieces. Rooms take inspiration from the look and feel of a Parisian apartment: pale wood floors, antique lamps, custom-built beds, and petite retro-styled bathrooms stocked with Le Labo bath products. Larger rooms have cozy reading corners, suites have four-poster beds and private terraces, and the opulent La Suite du Collectionneur, created in collaboration with curator Gilbert Kann, doubles as a gallery space where every artwork and object is available for purchase. The charming Gallery just off the lobby is a great-looking spot for apéritifs, as is Officine Bac, the speakeasy-style bar around the corner. But the hotel’s smartest amenity is the Refresh Room, designed for guest use before check-in and after checkout — hopefully it’s a feature the Miiro brand will include at its upcoming hotels in London, Barcelona, and Vienna.
