XV Beacon
The rooms moderate the extravagance of the lobby somewhat, and lighten the palette to incorporate some soothing white, gray, and cream. The furniture is inspired more by lavish Parisian luxury than the more austere local tradition, and the Italian marble bathrooms, with their heated towel racks and rain showers are pitch-perfect. Frette linens and robes are among the most conspicuous tactile luxuries, as are the cashmere throws and gas fireplaces. And while the heart of downtown Boston has no shortage of fine restaurants, one of them is right downstairs: the extravagantly named Mooo…. is an upscale modern steakhouse with an award-winning chef, a full bar, a capacious wine list, and a delightful private dining room in the vaulted wine cellar.
