In an undisturbed corner of Al-Ula Old Town, Dar Tantora occupies a maze of restored mud-brick houses, where candlelit interiors, hand-carved doors, and reed-covered ceilings offer a glimpse of life before electricity. There is no air conditioning or background music, just the rustle of date palms, the scent of incense, and the flicker of over 1,800 lanterns lit nightly by hand. With just 30 rooms and a rooftop pool, the hotel favors atmosphere over ornament. Joontos, the restaurant, features Middle Eastern and Spanish flavors. It does not feel like stepping back in time, it feels like time never left.
