The island of St. Kitts is a relatively late arrival to the Caribbean tourism trade, but it’s not for any lack of natural attributes — especially at this spot, the Narrows, where a remote appendage of the island stretches nearly all the way to neighboring Nevis, making for a spectacular view. 78 rooms and 48 suites are arrayed in a series of buildings that follow the arc of Banana Bay. The interior style is contemporary and exceedingly clean, with just a hint of a nod to the whitewashed colonial style, to establish a sense of place. The bathrooms are particularly lavish, with their soaking tubs and beautiful sea-blue tilework, but when you’re in a Park Hyatt the accommodations are never in question — this is the top of the line.
So too is the spa, which encompasses nine treatment rooms, a 24-hour health club, and the Sugar Mill, a distinctive open-air structure for yoga and meditation. Same goes for the two pools — one for adults only — and the three restaurants, from the central Great House to the overwater Fisherman’s Village to the elegant adults-only Stone Barn. And don’t forget Banana Bay itself — you’re placed on a glorious beach with a spectacular view, and the Park Hyatt provides facilities for just about every non-motorized water sport you can imagine.
