NAXIAN UTOPIA

Agios Arsenios, Agios Prokopios, Naxos, Greece
9 Rooms
Traditional Elegance & Quiet
According to its 16th-century literary origins, utopia is an imaginary place: peaceful, organized, architecturally uniform, and equally pleasurable for all. Naxian Utopia, a boutique hotel on the Greek island of Naxos, delivers on that promise — but with the distinct advantage of actually existing. It’s quiet and somewhat remote, located on a hill overlooking the salt lake of Agios Prokopios and within easy walking distance of the beach.

The hotel’s small collection of Cycladic-style suites and villas all feature spacious private terraces with plunge pools, and though layouts vary — some suites have outdoor Jacuzzis and villas have fully equipped kitchens — they’re all modern and luxurious, with all-white furnishings, gleaming concrete floors, Coco-mat beds, tadelakt tubs, and walk-in rain showers.

There’s another pool on the rooftop with an all-day bar and lovely views over the island’s landscapes. Nearby is a fitness center and a spa that offers treatments featuring organic Greek products. A simple breakfast is served daily at a communal table, and it’s a quick taxi ride into town and a range of restaurants, cafés, and bars.
