Majestic Hotel & Spa has been on Passeig de Gràcia since 1918, still run by the founding family. The neoclassical façade announces itself, but the real surprise is the 1,000-piece modern art collection inside, works by Antoni Tàpies, Josep Guinovart, and Anish Kapoor that would hold their own in any museum. Recent renovations refreshed the rooms and suites with muted whites and contemporary touches while preserving the building's original character. The rooftop pool and La Dolce Vitae bar deliver sunset views. Below, El Bar del Majestic hosts live piano music most evenings. A shoe shiner still makes afternoon rounds, a tradition maintained for over twenty years.
