Cutting a striking silhouette against the natural backdrop of Alpe-d’Huez, a high-altitude resort in the French Alps, is Royal Ours Blanc Hôtel & Spa. Take a closer look and you’ll notice the geometric cedar facade is modeled after a honeycomb. The polar bear theme continues inside: beehive-inspired rooms have gold and honey-yellow color palettes and hexagonal wall panels, and the indoor pool, gorgeously illuminated and framed by rock installations, resembles a luminous cave. Rooms and suites feature circular windows or private balconies with nature views, and some have duplex layouts with separate living areas. The fireplace bar, with its wood paneling and whimsical wildlife portraits, is a cozy spot for afternoon tea or après-ski cocktails after a day out in the mountains.
