The Chedi Luštica Bay

Perhaps no one other than GHM Hotels, the management company behind the Chedi hotel brand, would put Montenegro on the same list of high-end destinations as Switzerland, Bali, and Oman. But Montenegro is already home to several top-flight luxury resorts, and Luštica Bay, a purpose-built marina village on the Bay of Kotor, aims to outdo them all, with no fewer than seven hotels in the works. And with a blank canvas to work with, the Chedi Luštica Bay has a free hand to enact its singature variety of all-encompassing luxury.

It’s styled as something of a village unto itself, its 111 rooms and suites set on a hillside overlooking the Adriatic Sea, giving most rooms a view from their private balconies. The style is contemporary-luxe, equal parts calming minimalism, vibrant colors, and far-East inspiration, and the comforts and amenities throughout are state-of-the-art. There isn’t a room in the house that’s anything less than luxe, and the heights scaled by the suites are truly dizzying.

A formal restaurant and a casual seaside eatery are joined by a lobby bar and another on the beach, and the Chedi’s spa is predictably elaborate. Meanwhile the spa’s indoor pool is paired with an outdoor infinity pool, and the waters of the Adriatic are close at hand, along with all the seafaring fun the Chedi’s marina setting implies.
