Palihouse Hyde Park Village

The Palisociety hotels may have been born in California, but the brand’s colorful, eclectic, European-influenced style travels remarkably well; while Palihouse Hyde Park Village bears an obvious family resemblance to the other hotels of the same name, it looks perfectly at home on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Hyde Park is an upscale residential district just across the river from downtown Tampa, and Hyde Park Village is an open-air mixed-use development with shops, restaurants, and, thanks to Palisociety, a remarkably stylish boutique hotel.

In its public spaces it mixes vintage patterns and antique furnishings, creating an atmosphere that’s inviting and accessible. Meanwhile the rooms are colorful, handsome, equally warm, and somewhat residential in their concept — some of them feature kitchenettes and sofa beds, while all of them come with Nespresso machines, SMEG mini-fridges, and Diptyque bath products.

The Lobby Bar is the extent of the hotel’s in-house food and beverage offerings, featuring breakfast, coffee, cocktails, and an all-day menu. The rest of Hyde Park Village, however, is home to more than a few worthy options, including On Swann, a contemporary American restaurant that’s widely regarded as one of the finest in town.
