It would be hard to conceive of a hotel that more succinctly captures the youthful side of present-day Bath than this row of three Georgian townhouses, just across Pulteney Bridge from the old city center. The exteriors may be pure time-capsule, but the interiors recall some of England’s more fashionable and playful country-house hotels — at the entry level, however, its rooms are substantially more attainable. Comforts abound, however, both in-room and in the basement spa; meanwhile the restaurant serves what it calls a “wild British” cuisine, and the bar is a stylish spot for a nightcap or for afternoon tea.
