Situated just south of Marrakech at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, this so-called “peasant palace” is anything but stingy with its comforts. From the dramatic geometry of its entryway to the sweeping vistas that unfurl in every direction, Le Palais Paysan is a pastoral retreat less than an hour from the heart of the city.
Each of the hotel’s sixteen rooms features some kind of outdoor space — whether it’s a terrace overlooking the mountains or a private pathway into the garden is up to you. The customized experience also extends to your bathroom, a spacious sanctuary lined with cool tiles, dual sinks, and a walk-in shower or soaking tub. The décor is naturally a bit more rustic than the cool modernism of Talaa 12, but the same innovative spirit means fewer traditional riad signifiers in favor of vibrant wall hangings, a wealth of comfy throw pillows, and lamps that can only be described as scruffy-chic.
