Executive Chef Daniel Pape is the man responsible for both kitchens, and the classic and Mediterranean cuisine impresses with its finesse and lightness. It can be sampled from an appealing à la carte selection (eg "artichoke consommé, tomato concassé" or " Senfrostbraten (pork roast with mustard, rainbow vegetables, red onion"), which is complemented by seasonal daily specials. In fine weather, diners can enjoy the view of the Chiemgau Alps from the magnificent terrace (Bergterrasse). Good to know: It opens at 3pm, and at noon on Sundays. Fun fact: The name "Tafern" is a throwback to the establishment's roots – as far back as the early 15C there was a tavern on this site.
