Uluwatu, on Bali’s southern Bukit Peninsula, is known for its surfing, its dramatic cliffs, and its relative seclusion. The last two, at least, are key to the Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort experience — whether surfing figures into it is entirely up to you. The resort cascades down the terraced hill at the top of the cliff, meaning that most every spot has dramatic views of the Indian Ocean, including the suites and villas, some of which have private pools. Anantara’s spas are well known, and for good reason, and the hotel’s three restaurants serve Indonesian classics with a far-ranging cliffside view.
