When you’re staying in the center of the world’s largest ski area, hanging around the hotel is hardly a priority. But it’s hard to resist doing just that if you’re a guest at Le CouCou. Just a quick slide away from the lifts of Méribel, this ski-in, ski-out luxury hotel is housed in a ten-story wooden chalet with a wide terrace overlooking the slopes, indoor and outdoor pools separated by glass, three restaurants, and a Tata Harper spa. Interiors are sophisticated but warm, flooded with natural light and furnished with a mix of antique pieces and custom-made modern decor.
Eclectic details include retro-inspired murals and a collection of vintage cuckoo clocks, though guest rooms have more of a classic ski lodge aesthetic, featuring wood paneling and cozy, colorfully patterned carpets. A generous breakfast buffet with fresh pastries and locally produced charcuterie is ideal for fueling up before a day out exploring Les 3 Vallées. After a day on the slopes there’s a choice of hearty fondue or raclette at Le Fumoir, gourmet dishes of oysters, blue lobster, and Sologne caviar at the bistronomic Biancaneve, or cuts of the world’s rarest meats at Beefbar. Guests can also enjoy aprés-ski drinks at The Bar des Pistes, or on the deck with panoramic views over the landscape.
