Andaz Delhi - A Concept by Hyatt

The rehabilitation of the airport hotel might finally be complete. Once synonymous with sacrificing character for convenience, the better ones now offer the best of both worlds — and the Andaz Delhi - A Concept by Hyatt is a perfect example. Andaz is Hyatt’s “hip luxury” sub-brand, and this one is very much up to the usual standards: impressively stylish architecture and design, the full complement of high-end comforts, and service that’s both friendly and professional. And the fact that it’s two miles’ drive from the airport entrance is, in traffic-choked Delhi, something of a luxury unto itself.

Thanks to the Aerocity location, it’s got plenty of space to work with, and the result is rooms that are oversized even at the entry level. Runway View rooms are exactly what they sound like: you’ll watch planes take off and land, while marveling at the effectiveness of the soundproofing. The suites kick the luxury up another notch, and the apartments are proper residences, complete with fully equipped open kitchens. Meanwhile there’s a pool, spa, and fitness center, and plentiful facilities for meetings and events. And the dining and nightlife options are considerably more impressive than the airport setting might suggest: the hotel’s handful of restaurants and bars includes the Hong Kong Club, a bar, restaurant, and lounge decorated in a dramatic Chinese style to complement its Hong Kong–Cantonese menu.
