We told you we wouldn’t rest until there’s a properly stylish and inventive boutique hotel in every city in America. And while we’re not yet ready to declare our mission accomplished, the advent of the Tennessean Hotel, in Knoxville, Tennessee, brings us one step closer to our goal. The location, bordering on World’s Fair Park, is central, convenient to both the convention center and the best restaurants and breweries in downtown Knoxville. And the hotel itself offers a first-rate luxury boutique experience: stylish, memorable, and lacking for nothing when it comes to comfort.


Every room and suite boasts at least a king or two queen beds, as well as a 55-inch television and Molton Brown bath products. The Drawing Room restaurant and bar serves the best in locally sourced Southern cooking and Tennessee whiskey, and the Fairgrounds café serves lighter fare. You’re by no means limited to what’s inside the hotel, of course — this is an outgoing, convivial town, with any number of dining and drinking venues within walking distance.
