Gaia River Lodge
It’s as serene an escape as you want it to be; the adults-only waterfall-view rooms and cabanas are the ones to get if you can, but there’s no place on the property that’s anything less than spectacular. The accommodations are traditional on the outside, with thatched roofs, the better to blend into their surroundings — inside, they’re contemporary-classic, rustic at heart but with just the right measure of luxe polish.
There’s a spa, a lobby bar, and a treehouse-style restaurant; for the most part, however, the hotel’s public spaces are the rainforest itself. There’s a natural pool attached to the river, there’s an organic garden, and off-site there’s no end of things to see and do — from tours of the Maya archaeological site of Caracol to horseback tours, hikes, cave tubing, zip-lining, you name it. You’re right in the middle of Belize’s largest national park, and if ever there’s a place for a hotel named for the Earth itself, this is it.

One of the best hotels/ resorts I have been to! The hotel is very chic and perfect for relaxing. The grounds and rooms are impeccably well maintained in this beautiful remote eco reserve - the waterfall and jungle view are just supreme. The team needs special mentioning as they go above and beyond to create a familiar atmosphere and great experience for any guest. The food was consistently delicious and on par with upscale European restaurants Looking forward to visiting again!

The grounds are just drop-dead gorgeous. Set in the jungle atop a ravine with a tumbling waterfall below and oodles of natural pools, Gaia is an off-the-beaten-path gem. This is not a manicured cut-and-dry resort for the those accustomed to room service and a late night bar scene. It’s luxurious but eco-minded. It rewards adventurous spirits. The laid back vibe, killer service and the cushy decor and furnishings are all icing atop the cake.

The design of Gaia and how it compliments so perfectly the stunning natural beauty of its location is what makes it stand out. The staff and all of the tour guides that they associate with was the other exceptional aspect of this unique and life affirming property. Would like to mention the GM Nigel, front desk folks Chris and Kobe, server and bartender Freddy (don't miss the Balaam Mojito!), spa masseuse and facialist Lilly. Tour guides Isa (don't miss nocturnal walk through forest) and bird watching with Calpert, driver Gregory who started the great vibes when he picked us up at the airport.

We loved how close to nature we were able to be while also very comfortable. This is a true eco-lodge. The river and the falls are stunning and powerfully healing nature.
