Modern Design & Quiet
Philadelphia’s ROOST hotels have been, until now, a local curiosity, taking the typically boring genre of extended-stay hotels and applying a high-design sensibility and a boutique-hotel philosophy. ROOST Cleveland sets up shop on three floors of the May Company Building, a 1915 department store that’s now a residential development. And for a taste of Cleveland apartment life, you could certainly do a lot worse than this — these clean-lined, loft-style apartments are as attractive as any hotel rooms in town.

And, as the word “apartment” implies, rather more self-sufficient. The studios come with full kitchens and washers and dryers, while the one- and two-bedroom apartments add generously sized living rooms; all feature custom furniture, living plants, and unique artworks, along with boutique-hotel comforts like Sonos speakers and Sferra linens.

What there isn’t — and it’s no surprise given the apartment-hotel concept — is a hotel bar or a restaurant like you’d find in a more typical boutique hotel. Fortunately, you’re right in the heart of the city center, where dining and nightlife options are not scarce. And ROOST’s concierges are happy to point you in the right direction, and even loan you a bike to speed you on your way.
