Its location, far from all the city’s bustle, is extremely pleasant, and the calm becomes perceptible as you approach. The restaurant sits within Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, an agricultural estate surrounded by vineyards and nature and, at times… a Blue peafowl wandering the meadows. It is also a perfect refuge for wine lovers. The menu bears the signature of the German chef Joachim Koerper, who makes use of ingredients produced on the estate to present Alentejo cuisine allied to contemporary techniques. Our recommendation? Alentejo gazpacho prepared with a variety of garden tomatoes, fresh cheese and mint, PDO Alentejo beef from Malhadinha prepared in two stages and served with vegetables and a vinaigrette underscoring the region’s flavours and, for the grand finale, Mel da Herdade (estate honey), super delicate and with a surprising technical level!
"We try to keep the traditions of the Alentejo alive and respect its ecosystem through measures such as the management of our waste, water and energy. We also produce our own olive oil, honey and vegetables and raise native breeds in harmony with our natural environment."
