当代经典 和 安静
If neither Mauritius nor the Seychelles can satisfy your need for a luxury escape, don't worry: La Réunion is another remote Indian Ocean paradise, a lush volcanic island that rivals the finest getaways. But probably more importantly, it remains immune to crowds; even on its most densely populated north and west coasts, the atmosphere is still enlivened by locals and their Creole culture, not T-shirt vendors. Jump from one volcano to the next (preferably still asleep) to the south coast where you will find Palm Hotel & Spa Réunion; a world of its own bordering the bay of Grande Anse, its white sandy beach and crystal clear waters.
As you can imagine, aquatic life is an integral part of the island's rhythm, as evidenced by the schools of dolphins and humpback whales. Tropical gardens cover the property and embrace the villas. Superior rooms are decorated in enchanting natural tones, with wooden mosaic walls and contemporary lines, while the more upscale accommodations boast terraces, Jacuzzis and outdoor showers. Three lodges, perched on a cliff, offer unbeatable views of the Indian Ocean from their lofty palaces. While the Pool Lodges offer an exclusive experience with their heated private pools. All are of course state of the art: networked TVs, Nespresso machines, a tap or vending machine with micro-filtered water and private Wi-Fi.
Culinary offerings range from generous shared plates at Kah Beach & Restaurant to subtle and sophisticated bites at local gourmet restaurant Makassar. Kokoa offers a selection of handcrafted cocktails in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is the best place on the Palm for whale watching. Two swimming pools, a world-class gym and a games room will keep you busy, although drifting off into inactivity might be for the best. And for that, the highlight of the hotel is still the Akéa Spa with its seven treatment rooms, steam room, Jacuzzi and much more.
