The Old Port district is the most picturesque corner of downtown Portland, its cobblestone streets lined with classic red-brick warehouses. Portland Harbor Hotel stands at one end of the Fore Street strip, and its rooms lean in to the hotel’s nautical inspiration, but tastefully so, lending character, not kitsch, to its contemporary-classic interiors. Many bathrooms include large soaking tubs, and some suites come with whirlpool baths, and some with fireplaces. BlueFin, the restaurant, serves a straightforward selection of fresh North Atlantic seafood, and more casual options abound, starting just a few yards from the hotel’s front door.
